For fuck's sake, Sam. This is great!

Seeing you made this out of a drawing with pen, this is even more impressive.
The scenery's atmosphere really catches on, the fire's good (hm, did you perhaps receive a tip?) and the shadowing is great.

Since you added colour, the arm doesn't look like it's coming out of the quiver, and the bow seems to have a normal length now, well done.

Also, don't give me that bullshit about "Much colours might be not realistic" (*might not be), it all looks fantastic.

I'm jellymad, congratulations: the 5/5 is deserved.

SamZee responds:

O.O Wow, thanks.
O yeah, thank you for that suggestion ^^. And I'm glad to hear that it actually worked, too.
Well, that change in the bow wasn't meant to be. I just forgot to over-draw the lines again :P, but since you like it I won't change it.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

This art piece really has very clear pros and cons with me, in the small things, like the chain (pro) used in the weapon and the tag (con) >_>

Anyway, I'll get to the review:

I really like how the body worked out, mostly. It's feminine, yet beastly. It has a certain beauty, yet the succubus somehow makes you weary; something's not right.

What I didn't really like about the body is the hands and the face. The face is because I'm not a furry, which is a personal thing (meaning, no points are lost here), but the hands are just too small. I know drawing hands is a difficult thing (I'm struggling with my current art project with the hand(s)).

What I did (very much) like, were the wings, as in damn, they're good. 'Nuff said.
I also like the paint/tattoos she's having all over her body, nice detail.

Other than that, nice tail, nice weapon and nice logo. Great job, keep it up!

CliffRacer responds:

thanks :3 and yes, now that you mentioned it, I noticed it myself too, the hands really are too small, and agree. But what I noticed myself earlier was, that the legs are a bit too short.

Does she... have a neck?

I like it, really I do, but she really looks like she's trying to fit into the screen/paper. Did you have enough drawing space when you began?

Other than that, the shadowing is good, but the eyes and the shoulders seem... Really, REALLY odd.

Keep improving, you'll get there (lol I'm not even 'there' yet.)

Thedark responds:

Well you got a point there
i will try to improve later on

Nice, nice!

I've seen the epic journey of this drawing and I must say the the shadowing worked out really well. The hair and the bones were drawn so impressively and of course, the clothes are impressive too.

It's really a shame that you had to take a picture of this, and that it's drawn with a pen. If you'd like you can use my scanner to solve one problem.

Anyway, I'm going to give you an 8/10 and recommend you for the art portal, I expect great things from you, but do it outside of school :P

SamZee responds:

Thanks, but I think I'm not gonna make it in life when I don't draw at school ;D.

Looks nice, but in full view quite pixelated.

Your style looks nice. It's something I'd use too (I only use it with making doodles at school though). It is, however a bit difficult to guess the name without seeing the title.

Also a bit of a downside, I'm not sure how that came to be, but the 'O' is very much pixelated, but only when viewed in full size.

Looks cool, keep it up.

SubparTony responds:

I know...I used MS paint.Thank you anyway.

...My god I want to see that flash! This is very great indeed!

Personally, I love futuristic types of art, especially if there's a city or landscape involved. I've started a small collection of really awesome artwork and this one is definately going straight into that certain folder!

Let me say first of all: great shadow works, everything seemed so real, (this is gonna sound lame :P) it's like I can walk straight into there. Also, even though it the city seems empty, there's a lot to see, take the factory(?) and the few people there. I love the one who's fishing, it seems perfectly fitting with the emptyness of the city.

Then lastly, the colourwork; great. From every detail in front to the far lands in the back, just great.

While I am typing this I'm thinking how to not give this a 10/10 by finding anything I don't like, but I really can't find anything bad, your 10 is well deserved, good job!

10/10 5/5, keep it up!

EchoCharlieDelta responds:

I think the most important thing here is that with this artwork, especially, I tried to imagine a scene and work off that. It helps in that case because you're already imagining a world in your head, thus the details seem more natural. Like I said earlier - there are colors I would have wished to have used, which I hope to use in my other artworks.
And cheers, I'm still figuring out kinks in actionscript and haven't even begun art assets but this is the art direction I will be using.

Awww

I just wanna cuddle that, it looks like one of my favorite stuffed animals from 10 years back.

Are you gonna make more? I sure hope so :D

Asandir responds:

Well, it is based on a stuffed animal that looks like that, so.... :D
I thought about making more art, but I concentrate on searching for abusive reviews lately.

My first reaction:

WOOOOOW dit is zo mooi! (WOOOW this is so beautiful) Then I viewed it in full size, and it's just so.. detailed! You can see the small roads in the back of the picture, you have worked out the shades really well, and man... I'm speechless!

"This is the first time I've tried using mechanical pencil in a drawing. I think it worked ou very well" Dude, that is a big understatement! This is one of the finest are I have seen on NG!

Keep them coming, seriously!

1600 responds:

Thanks for the review! :)
